The Access Policy Advisory Committee (APAC) serves in an advisory capacity to WeGo Public Transit. Its purpose is to provide the WeGo with recommendations on the its compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), facilitate a dialogue between WeGo and those with disabilities in the community, and increase the use of the WeGo's services by people with disabilities.

The responsibilities of the committee include:

  • To represent the interests and diversity of people with disabilities
  • To provide comment on WeGo's current services, policies and practices
  • To provide informed input on the development and assessment of future WeGo projects and services that impact people with disabilities


Members
The Access Policy Advisory Committee is guided by a chair, co-chair and secretary and is comprised of members from 14 different groups. These organizations include: Support and Training for Exceptional Parents (STEP), Rochelle Center, Middle Tennessee Council for the Blind, Tennessee Council for the Blind, Tennessee Disability Pathfinder, Center for Independent Living (CIL) of Middle Tennessee, Tennessee Disability Coalition, Greater Nashville Regional Council, Vanderbilt Medical Center, American Diabetes Association, Tennessee Association of Blind Athletes, Centennial AdultCare, Department of Intellectual Development Disabilities IT, Disability Law & Advocacy Center of Tennessee, and consumers.
